100 % PCR rPE with filler from household waste
The product range M·CYCLOSE® rPE UBQ includes three plastic recyclates that are almost 100 % from post-consumer recyclate (PCR) are produced. The raw material basis is recycled polyethylene (rPE) from beverage cartons to which a recycled filler from household waste streams has been added. There are three M·CYCLOSE® materials in which the filler from household waste with 10 %, 20 % and 30 % is contained.
The M·CYCLOSE® rPE UBQ product range is convincing as a sustainable solution for a wide range of non-food applications in injection moulding. A very good processability and a good flowability characterise the material. An improved stiffness makes the end products dimensionally stable. At the same time, the material is characterised by high impact resistance and is therefore also a robust solution for applications with increased mechanical requirements. All variants have a greyish, natural look with visible fibre structures.
The special sustainability aspect of this product range lies in the combination of 100 % PCR polyethylene with UBQ filler made from household waste which makes a significant contribution to conserving resources and reduces the carbon footprint of components. With M·CYCLOSE® rPE 068 UBQ10 nat, M·CYCLOSE® rPE 055 UBQ20 nat and M·CYCLOSE® rPE 044 UBQ30 nat provide you with sustainable and high-performance materials for the development of sustainable, recyclable plastic products.

Recycled filler made from household waste
Large quantities of unsorted household waste accumulate every day – from banana peels to old pizza boxes. What appears useless at first glance is converted into 80,000 tonnes of valuable raw materials for plastics processing by our partner UBQ using innovative technology at its large-scale plant in the Netherlands.

rPE made from beverage cartons
Beverage cartons are difficult to recycle due to their complex composite materials. Saperatec GmbH has developed a water-based separation technology with which the components can be efficiently separated and high-quality raw materials recovered. This recycled PE, based on post-consumer recyclate, contributes to the circular economy and can be used in new products both pure and as an ingredient in formulations.
