Our mission is to develop environmentally friendly alternatives to conventional plastics and thus make a contribution to protecting our planet. Sustainability is not just a trend for us, but a matter close to our hearts. The well-trained employees at BIO-FED have many years of experience in the plastics industry and especially in the bioplastics industry.

Part of the international Feddersen Group
Our company name BIO-FED combines our activities in the field of environmentally friendly plastic solutions with our affiliation to the Feddersen Group. As a branch of the plastics compounder AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH and part of the internationally operating Feddersen Group we benefit from a comprehensive network and in-depth expertise in the field of plastics that has been built up over more than 50 years. Through the Feddersen Group, we have access to a global sales network, international production capacities and expertise in process engineering, a processing technology centre, materials testing and analytical laboratories as well as engineering services in the field of plastics design and testing.

Social responsibility
Corporate Social Responsibility is important to us: starting with respecting human rights, the health and diversity of our employees and dealing with demographic changes.
Investments in the companies of the Feddersen Group are held by K.D. Feddersen Holding GmbH. The sole shareholder of the holding company is the charitable K.D. Feddersen Foundation which operates a senior citizens' residential complex in Hamburg.

Our development department works closely with our customers to develop innovative solutions for their individual needs. We offer customised material solutions that are both environmentally friendly and high-performance. All with the aim of preserving our planet for future generations.
Thanks to our affiliation with a leading manufacturer of engineering plastics, AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH (Niederzissen, Germany), we have state-of-the-art compounding and laboratory facilities at our disposal. This enables us to ensure global batch consistency, offer the very highest quality and ensure that we only use first-class raw materials for our compounds.

We attach great importance to the highest standards and accuracy in order to always be able to offer our customers the best products. Our internal processes are designed to achieve continuous improvement and ensure that we meet the highest standards.
AKRO-PLASTIC and we as BIO-FED and AF-COLOR, as its two subsidiaries, are certified in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 (quality management system) and ISO 50001:2018 (energy management system) standards.
By using sustainable material flows in our ISCC PLUS certified compounds, we make a contribution to saving fossil resources and promoting the bioeconomy and circular economy. ISCC PLUS is one of the leading sustainability certification systems in the chemical industry for biobased and recycled materials (including those based on vegetable oil and fat waste or recyclate).
Our biodegradable materials are certified by TÜV AUSTRIA in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13432 (compostability) or by DIN CERTCO in accordance with EN 17033 (soil degradability).
