PCR colour masterbatches
Use masterbatches based on post-consumer recyclate.

The challenge in producing masterbatches based on post-consumer recycled materials lies in the often variable base colour and quality of the PCR materials. However, the use of intense colourants or highly pigmented carbon black can enable consistent and cost-effective colouring.
Particularly when using black colouring, the challenge lies in ensuring that the mechanical properties are not compromised despite the use of carbon black. To ensure recyclability even with black colouring, a carbon-black-free black masterbatch based on post-consumer recycled (PCR) material can be used. Avoiding carbon black enables the plastic to be detected by near-infrared (NIR) sorting systems, as conventional carbon black prevents NIR detection, thereby interrupting the material cycle.
We would be happy to work with our sister company, AF-COLOR, to develop PCR-based colour and black masterbatches tailored specifically to your application. Please get in touch!
