Sustainable and biodegradable masterbatches
Colouring is carried out almost exclusively with the help of colour masterbatches, which are made up of polymer carrier materials and corresponding colourants. For our AF-Eco® colour, carbon black and additive masterbatches, we only use biodegradable polymers as a carrier matrix. A wide range of colour and additive combinations are available.
They are ideal for use in injection moulding and for blown film, profile and sheet extrusion as well as for thermoforming applications. Thanks to our certified colour pool, we can meet almost any colour requirement. All our products from the AF-Eco® product family are certified in accordance with "OK compost INDUSTRIAL". We can also offer some "OK compost HOME" certified masterbatches.

Material certifications
No product is made to last forever. There are various end-of-life scenarios for products made from bioplastics. One of these is biodegradability in different environments, such as in an industrial composting plant, on home compost, in the soil or in water.
Independent test institutes measure the biodegradability and/or the biobased content on behalf of the customer and confirm this by awarding a test mark. This ensures market transparency and provides guidance for customers and consumers.
In Europe, TÜV AUSTRIA (Belgium) and DIN CERTCO (Germany) are the most important certification institutes. In North America, it is the BPI institute.
